OCTOBER WORKSHOP REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

Fun, Interactive, Hands-On SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, and MATH in a small group setting for students Kindergarten through high school. Parent learning and participation is greatly encouraged.

  How It Works:

A monthly class for students to experience science, in groups of twelve or less, to learn that STEM topics are all around us.  These once monthly topics are designed so that the students will see the how and why of our scientific world, and see how different topics are connected. Currently, there are fifteen topics taught, with more being developed each year.

  Who is Professor Darin?

Darin Richard Roberts, aka Professor Darin, is someone who loves asking questions, looking at things from unexpected angles, and trying new things. He says if we aren’t having fun while we are learning, we’re doing it wrong! His favorite words are WOW and oooo.

Because his own skills were gained through hands-on learning in a six year apprenticeship situation, Darin is a natural in the lab. Kids respond well to his exploration-based style of teaching. He’s been teaching kids in various environments for more than 40 years and has perfected the mix between education and play.

Often parents, even engineers and scientists who bring their own kids to our labs, comment that they learned something new, as well.  We invite you to come try it out. You’ll be glad you did!

What our customers are saying

Jessie really enjoyed this class! O:) He was especially excited about the arduino with the circuits and breadboard. He is currently trying to build his own fire alarm panel with various circuits and breadboards. We are looking for a metal box for him to put his fire alarm panel in. His Grandfather, my Dad might have found him a discarded metal box for a small security system. He really enjoyed the Rocket Town STEM class topics, especially those related to circuits. O:) We will keep you all posted.

Dear Professor Darin, I just wanted to take a moment to share this with you. My son, Diesel, was reading a library book and he said the following: "Mom, look! It's a water molecule! It's drawn like an actual molecule and not the way scientists draw it to make it easier to see. " Your lessons are being absorbed, remembered, and internalized. Thank you for taking the time to teach kids about God's creation!

My son, Dominic, is VERY interested in making the rocket launcher out of PCV Pipes from Feburary's STEM lab. Can you please share the instructions and materials you mentioned? We'd like to try making the launcher at home as a science experiment using different materials to make the paper rocket.  Also, we plan to see you in March for your spinning objects lab.
